Napoleon is a historical wine, produced to remember the bicentenary of the passage in the Aosta Valley of Napoleon, who, stopped at Donnas, in May 1800, had the opportunity, as reported by the chronicles of the time, to taste and appreciate the wine of Donnas.
It is left to rest for more than 12 months in oak barrels, a long aging that gives body and rounds the vibrant character of this wine. In the glass you can taste the history, tradition and pride of the Caves Cooperatives of Donnas.

It was created by our company with the vintage of 1997 and put on the market on the occasion of the celebration of the bicentenary of the passage of Napoleon. We of the Caves Cooperatives of Donnas continue to produce it, choosing not to abandon the traditional cultivation of nebbiolo picotendro.
It usually goes well with red meat or game, with sauces that can bring balsamic notes. Traditional pairing with semi-hard and aged cheeses. Particular suggestion is the "civet suede", suede marinated for 12 hours in wine and served with polenta.
