Description
On the terraces between Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta, alongside the more traditional vines, there are fewer and fewer olive trees. More than a new appearance is actually a return, as evidence of olive cultivation in Piedmont have been recorded since the thirteenth century
At Settimo Vittone, after years of patient work, in 2002 the Circolo Molino Lingarda organized the first "Festival of olives and oil", producing for the first time the oil of the Riviera Settimese, with the pressing of about 200 kg of olives in Villanova d'Albenga: The amazement of the Ligurians in noticing the quality of the Canavese fruits will be an encouragement to persevere in the challenge of the cultivation of olive trees at altitudes above 250 m asl, planting hundreds of plants and carefully studying their adaptability to the territory.
