Between the woods of Piedmont and those of Calabria, in June and July, we harvest organic chestnut honey , whose flowering is expressed at the beginning of summer. The inflorescences of this plant variety give to the bees the opportunity of a nourishment of which they are particularly greedy.
In the kitchen there are many uses of chestnut honey: you can choose it as a companion of fresh or aged cow, sheep and goat cheese;as a combination with fat meat or game or slightly smoked. Thanks to its bitterish tone and its liquid consistency, this product is the ideal partner for sweet and savoury dough: from whole grain bread to hazelnut and persimmon creams. Excellent also spread on black bread enriched with lard and nuts or accompanied by craft beers and black tea
