Our organic rhododendron honey is the result of an accurate journey of nomadism. The bees, in the early summer months, are accompanied in the high mountains, in the Aosta Valley and in Piedmont. Only the nectar harvested above 1500 meters gives "high mountain" honey.
Rhododendron honey has an evocative name and comes from a very beautiful and well-known plant. Fresh and refined, it is particularly rare and produced almost exclusively in our country.
Our organic rhododendron honey is part of the SLOW FOOD PRESIDIUM - high mountain honeys: the Presidium aims to enhance and revive the high mountain honeys, the result of hard work of the beekeeper who moves nomadic among the blooms of the mountain, a practice, nomadism in the high mountains, now little practiced with productions always at risk and often more scarce than the sedentary beekeeping, but offering excellent products and high quality.
Thanks to its delicate sweetness and its unique texture, rhododendron honey blends nicely with all blue and/or well aged cheeses; is the ideal surprise ingredient for marinating fish or for the creaming of risotto forest or mountain such as mushrooms or alpine cheeses. Rhododendron honey also welcomes the combination with more acidic flavors such as tomato sauce or a summer salad of cherry tomatoes and feta.Excellent also spread on toast and crispy or used as a sweetener for herbal teas and delicate infusions.
