Our organic honey from Fiori delle Alpi is born in an alpine environment, between the Aosta Valley and Piedmont and is harvested in June.
Only the nectar harvested above 1500 meters gives "high mountain" honey. For the Alpine flower honey, there are many plants involved: rhododendron, campanula, lupinella, clover, raspberry, thyme serpillo... It is a beautiful and delicate product, always different, from area to area and from one year to the next.
Our Alpine flower honey is part of the SLOW FOOD PRESIDIUM - high mountain honeys: the Presidium aims to enhance and revive the high mountain honeys, the result of hard work of the beekeeper who moves nomadic among the blooms of the mountain, a practice, nomadism in the high mountains, now little practiced with productions always at risk and often more scarce than the sedentary beekeeping, but offering excellent products and high quality
This honey is the ideal companion for every product of high mountain origin, from the toma d'alpeggio to the typical fontina, from a fruit salad of blackberries, raspberries and blueberries to the consistency of game cooked with aromatic herbs.
The medium sweetness of this product allows you to use it with pleasure even in herbal teas or refreshing drinks based on herbs and mountain flowers.
