It is said that Cavour never finished a meal without two apple paste and a small glass of Barolo. Yes, because these typically Piedmontese cookies are a cuddle not to be missed. Their name comes from the dialect: meliga, in fact it is the way used between Cuneo and Mondovì to indicate the corn flour foil.

Meliga pasta is a typical Piedmont biscuit, in particular the Lanzo Valleys, the Cuneo, the Biellese and the lower Val di Susa. They are sweets made with wheat flour, ancient Piedmontese corn flour, butter, sugar, honey, eggs and lemon zest.
