Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato Caresana

The farm Gatto was born at the end of the 19th century with his grandfather Giacomo who began to vinify the first Barbera grapes and sell the wine obtained. Today it extends between the hills of Castagnole Monferrato and Montemagno, cultivating Grignolino, Barbera and Ruc hè. The latter, almost disappeared, was saved thanks to his nephew Pierfrancesco who was able to re-evaluate this historical variety of solemn occasions and feasts, imported by Cistercian monks in other eras. Its soils, of tufa origin and very sandy, receive the minimum of interventions and even in the cellar the work is done to nature and tradition.
